Yes, I do compare my life with others.  I think it's necessary to do so in order to have an idea where to set your standards on.  Envy at a healthy dose can act as a motivation to strive for bigger and better things. Anyone who is satisfied with their current life won't be able to move forward or grow as a person because they believe where they are is good enough and thus their quality of life and work will plateau. I think I'm still capable of greater things and for those who have reached that goal, I see it as if I can reach that some day if I try hard enough.
